How can I configure the AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth WordPress Logon Agent?

Note: This integration does not support the use of Push. You will need to use OTP.

Configuring WordPress to support AuthAnvil Two-Factor Authentication

Step 1 – Install the AuthAnvil WordPress Logon Agent plugin

  1. Log into the WordPress admin console.
  2. Expand the Plugins tab.
  3. Click Add New.
  4. Search for “AuthAnvil”
  5. Click the Install Now link for the “AuthAnvil WordPress Logon Agent.”
  6. Follow the prompts.

OR

  1. Download the AuthAnvil WordPress Logon Agent.
  2. Unzip the Logon Agent to your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.

Step 2 – Configure your AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth Server settings.

  1. Log into the WordPress admin console.
  2. Expand the Settings tab.
  3. Open AuthAnvil.
  4. Enter your AuthAnvil SAS URL into the AuthAnvil SAS URL Field.
    Note : If you are using an HTTPS connection, the server name must match the FQDN on the SSL certificate assigned to the server.
    Note 2: HTTP is an insecure protocol and is not recommended for a production environment.
  5. Enter your AuthAnvil Site ID into the AuthAnvil Site ID field.
  6. Click Save Changes.

    Note: Your SAS URL will be your tenant URL/AuthAnvil/SAS.asmx Example: https://acme.my.authanvil.com/AuthAnvil/SAS.asmx

Step 3 - Assign members to use AuthAnvil for Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Log into the WordPress admin console.
  2. Expand the Users tab.
  3. Browse to a user that you would like to have use AuthAnvil Two Factor Authentication for the WordPress login and click edit.
  4. Make sure the username in WordPress matches the AuthAnvil username.
  5. Scroll to AuthAnvil Settings section of the user’s profile and select Yes for the Require Strong Authentication option.

  6. Click Update User.
  7. Repeat steps 3 – 6 for every member who needs to use AuthAnvil authentication.

Step 4 – Log into WordPress using an AuthAnvil Two Factor Auth-protected user

  1. Navigate to the WordPress Login Screen.
  2. Enter your WordPress Username, WordPress Password and AuthAnvil Passcode.

  3. Click Log In.
